The institutions we have built to prop us up seem mostly to hold creative and forward thinking people back. College is great, but it is slow and routine. Corporations can do great things, but fulfilling individuals is not one of them. Money is important but it can also be an addiction. Accomplishments like a degree or a job are not an end, they are means to an end. I’m so glad I learned that.
Most of us won’t be written up in history books. Most of us only make three or four momentous decisions in our lives, and several decades after we die, the people we leave behind will struggle to remember the events of our lives. You and I live in little moments, and if God doesn’t rule our little moments and doesn’t work to re-create us in the middle of them, then there’s no hope for us, because that’s where you and I live.
On the entrepreneurial path, few people come into your life without a reason.
When you expose yourself there are many many ways for people to attack you. People will stab you and hurt you. But you can’t create art unless you show how unique you are while being inclusive with others who share your problems.
A leader of men must make decisions quickly, be independent; act and stand firm; be a fighter; speak openly, plainly, frankly; make defeats his lessons; cooperate; coordinate; use the best of any alliances or allies; walk with active faith courageously toward danger or the unknown; create a staff; know, love and represent the best interests of his followers; be loyal, true, frank and faithful; reward loyalty; have a high, intelligent, and worthy purpose and ideal. Do justice; love mercy; fear no man but fear only God.

Faith means believing in advance what will only make sense in reverse.
Intelligence without ambition is a bird without wings.
That’s what makes death so hard- unsatisfied curiosity.
When you have disciplined people, you don’t need hierarchy. When you have disciplined thought you don’t need bureaucracy. When you have disciplined action, you don’t need excessive controls.
You must never confuse faith that you will prevail in the end- which you can never afford to lose- with the discipline to confront the most brutal facts of your current reality whatever they might be.
-Admiral James Stockdale
Most men would rather die, than think. Many do.
Truth is like a lizard; it leaves its tail in your fingers and runs away knowing full well that it will grow a new one in a twinkling.
